400 kilometers to cycle across Colombia's Coffee Region

Imagine following in the tracks of Efraín "El Zipa" Forero who, while looking for sponsors for the first Vuelta a Colombia in 1951, climbed the 81 kilometers of Alto de Letras, the longest mountain climb in the world, becoming the first to conquer it. As you go from 450 to 3,646 meters above sea level, you pass through different ecosystems while the road slowly disappears into the mountains under the fog.

Now picture yourself at the finish, next to the sign that confirms the feat against all odds, at the top of the páramo, breathing fresh air and having an aguapanela with cheese or a snack to get your energy back. And even if your legs can't take any more, make one last effort to ride down to Manizales, rest from the day and, at night, go out for dinner, stroll around the Plaza de Bolívar, step into the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, enjoy a good coffee and, if you still have the energy, go listen to some tango.
