What is the Coffee Region and which cities does it include?

Colombia's Coffee Region (Eje Cafetero) covers the departments of Quindío, Risaralda and Caldas, with Pereira, Armenia and Manizales as its main cities. Its Coffee Cultural Landscape was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.

How many days do I need to see the Coffee Region?

In 3 days you can cover the essentials: Salento and the Cocora Valley, a day at Parque del Café or Panaca, and a coffee-culture tour such as Recuca. With 5 days you can enjoy the region at a relaxed pace and add the Santa Rosa hot springs.

When is the best time to visit the Coffee Region?

The weather is pleasant all year round. The driest months are usually December to February and July to August, ideal for hiking in the Cocora Valley. In the rainy season the landscape is greener and there are fewer visitors.
